a movie about the riots in the seventies in the city of detroit but especially with the reason for the riots and the attitude of police and how the nation treated people of colour.
and how they treated them and how the justice system failed them .. based on a true story.
i found it very confronting yet compelling to watch.. humans have a tendency to lump everybody together in the same basket ,however we are not all the same, their is good and bad in every race and culture whether they are black, white or brindle .. anybody seen it and like to comment ?.
Not seen it. I can't watch movies where there's gross injustices that try to describe historical events. Often I feel that the scriptwriter or the directors take liberties to make bad people look even worse and good people look even better. I rather read an account of the event that attempts to be as objective as possible, giving the good and the bad of both sides and let the reader decide.
I may watch the movie just as an introduction to the subject, not the final word
then there was family day which had an enormous turnout, with guests getting live entertainment, dancing and a dj.

Wow!, first time ever that I see the Watchtower organizing an event that is not for the worship and monetary benefit of the Watchtower. Were there donation boxes? I bet you there were. I bet you the event this year started with a deficit, because the surplus from the previous year was donated to the not-happening-construction fund.

Zalkin is the right man! Bring shame to the Watchtower, be compensated to the maximum limits allowed by the courts, but mainly be a hero and a model of bravery to those victims who remain in the shadows, and a savior to those who remain unprotected from the Watchtower gross callousness.
i dont know if it was the same for you, but for me when i was a jw meeting days seemed to have a black cloud hanging over them.
on thursdays i knew i would be going to the meeting that evening.
that i would be getting into my meeting clothes at 6:30pm, leaving the house at 6:55pm and be sat in the kingdom hall from 7:15pm-9pm, then milling around for about half an hour before finally getting home for 10pm.
Child abuse through and through, and I condoned it. What the f**# was I thinking?

You are very brave and a great human for making the sacrifice for the sake of others.
Any possibilities of civil litigation? You should be compensated, but the greater benefit is to add to the bad publicity of the Watchtower, and therefore the protection of other victims who are unaware of the PPP (Pedophile Protection Program) of the Watchtower.

The reason I first reacted very positively to your videos is because you are the young JW's, not 50, 60, 70 year old. You are, in my opinion, more effective than older "apostates" in reaching the younger JW's, and that's the people who need to be rescued. The old JW's may be better off inside the cult, especially those who have never known any other life.

we weren't planning on going to the memorial, but last week my mother broke down and said that we have to go to the memorial even if it's the only meeting i go to this year.
